  • Originally hand wound in China during the 19th Century (or earlier), these brilliantly colored beads became a popular staple throughout the Asian Trade Bead Routes, and are most famously seen among the Naga People of Burma and North India, as well as Irian Jaya (Western New Guinea, also known as Papua (formerly Irian Jaya) and West Papua), where they acquired their geographically famous nickname.
