  • This wonderful Icon portrays The Crucifixion of Jesus Christ surrounded by His Beloved Mother Mary and Saint John ("the Beloved Disciple") in Agonized Witness.
  • The Second Panel portrays Jesus Christ with His Crown of Thorns being driven by a Roman Guard along Jesus’s Path to Golgotha, known as the Via Dolorosa (Way of Sorrow). It is the traditional, roughly half-mile route through Jerusalem's Old City from His Trial to His Crucifixion. It spans 14 Stations, representing moments of suffering, typically starting near the former Antonia Fortress and ending at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
  • Each panel is individually hand-painted on solid wood, showing honest age and craftsmanship. The style, materials, and construction are consistent with late 20th century Ethiopian workshop icons, created for devotional and decorative use.
