  • The very ornate intricate style of carving is referred to as Mandalay Style.
  • Mandalay is the economic Centre of upper Burma and considered the Centre of Burmese culture. It is also known for its fine gold and silver crafts, wood and marble carving, making bronze Buddha image, silk thread weaving and ancient tapestry.
  • Monk shown standing on a lotus pedestal, having both carved and applied details with blue finish throughout and red finish on portions of garments; constructed in segments and joined by pegs, having painted wood base
  • Measurements: Height, 30 inches; Width,  13 1/4 inches;  Depth, 5 1/4 inches
