Associated with Lord Ganesha in Hinduism (the God of Removal of Obstacles), the elephant symbol is seen in cultures from around the world. Traditional symbolism marks the elephant as a hallmark of reliability, dignity, power, royalty and pride. As a Christian symbol, the elephant represents temperance, patience, and chastity. To the Chinese, elephants are for happiness, longevity and good luck. Some cultures also believe that the elephant has the strength to carry the world upon its back.
